Events

At Elekta Foundation, we organize both internal and external events to raise awareness, build community, and fund programs that improve access to cancer care worldwide. These initiatives bring people together around a shared purpose while creating opportunities to support patients, families, and healthcare providers in underserved regions.

Our events include the Pink Ribbon Challenge, where Elekta employees around the globe embraced active lifestyles, strengthened team spirit, and raised awareness for breast cancer, with every kilometer walked or run contributing to breast cancer screening and care for women in need. We also launched Ride for Rwanda, a four-day cycling fundraiser from the UK to the Netherlands that united 39 cyclists, covered more than 500 km, and raised over US$55,000 to support women living with advanced stages of cancer.

In August 2026, we are bringing our community together once again for the Elekta Foundation Charity Awareness Walk 2026 – Together Against Cervical Cancer in Stockholm. The 5 km walk aims to raise awareness and funds to improve access to HPV screening, early detection, and treatment for women in low- and middle-income countries.

Together, through these events and future initiatives, we are working towards a world where everyone has access to quality cancer care, no matter where they live.

Elekta Foundation Charity Awareness Walk 2026 – Together Against Cervical Cancer

On 20 August 2026, we are coming together on Djurgården in Stockholm for the Elekta Foundation Charity Walk 2026 – Together Against Cervical Cancer.

Why are we walking?

Every year, hundreds of thousands of women are diagnosed with cervical cancer, despite it being one of the most preventable forms of cancer through HPV screening and early detection.

That’s why we are walking 5 km together around Djurgården – to raise awareness and support Elekta Foundation’s work to improve access to HPV screening, early detection and treatment for women in low- and middle-income countries.

Every step makes a difference

Just 50 SEK can help provide one woman with HPV screening, helping detect cervical cancer before it becomes life-threatening.

Whether walking with colleagues, friends or family, every participant helps raise awareness and supports our mission to improve access to screening and treatment where it is needed most.

The walk will be followed by a quiz, games and prizes, bringing everyone together for an evening of community, movement and purpose.

Together, every step brings us closer to a world without cervical cancer.

Elekta’s Pink Ribbon Challenge: A global effort for breast cancer awareness

The aim with the Pink Ribbon Challenge was to embrace an active lifestyle, boost team spirit, and make a difference in the community. Elekta employees worldwide have been participating in the Pink Ribbon Challenge since January.

We know that physical activity reduces the risk of cancer, and every step Elekta employees took contributed to a good cause, as they were raising funds for the support to our work with breast cancer screening and assistance to women dealing with this disease.

For every kilometer they have run or walked, $7 was donated to the Elekta Foundation.

Together, we are building a future where everyone has access to cancer care is a reality, no matter where you live.
